Awesome!

I conducted a group counseling session with the girls from the orphanage. I used the word “awesome” more than once ( I blame tumblr!) and I noticed that some of the girls were giggling. They told me that they didn’t know what it meant! They hadn’t heard the word being used before. I laughed and told them that it is used when something is “very, very good or excellent”. The girls slowly repeated the word after me with a very serious expression on their faces. I thought it was very amusing (& cute) that they were taking an American slang term so seriously.
After the session was over,I asked,”Girls, how was the session?”
They all screamed in unison,”AWESOME!”
Now that made my day! :)
