Some women fear wearing the hijab; they fear loss of their family, friends, job or their careers. Some fear the threat of violence. Some fear their failure to commit to hijab full time; fear is fear and is real to those who fear.
I was not born in hijab. In fact, I remember when I did not wear hijab. It is not in me to look down on a sister who does not wear hijab. I am no judge and my judgment is not the One that matters.
For me, I know it was Allah’s mercy alone that made it easy for me to hijab; I know that without Allah, it was much easier said than done. If hijab is a struggle for you, seek the aid of The One, Allah. He is the best to smooth your way.
Ya Allah, we are in need of You, and You are not in need of us. Help us to make the best decisions for our own sakes. Grant those who strive to please You, the courage and the strength we need. Ameen.
Salaam
