Millions of commuters use the overcrowded Mumbai local trains for their daily commute and thankfully some coaches are reserved exclusively for women. This picture is used to indicate that the compartment is reserved for women. It’s another thing that women in Mumbai don’t dress so demurely anymore!
A road (marg) named after Sayyeda Fatima Zehra (sa) in Mumbai, India. I have previously posted pictures of Imam Hussain(a) Chowk and Hazrat Abbas(a) Street. All of these are located in the dongri area of South Bombay. What I like about these road signs is that they not only have the name but also information on these holy personalities.
A road junction (chowk) named after Imam Hussain (as) in Mumbai, India. This is near Hazrat Abbas (as) street :)
Bombay! You just can’t get enough of it.
The truth is even if Bombay was the worst place in the world I would still love it because it is home <3
“guess who I just saw on the road!”
Me: Where are you?
Friend: Mumbai Central. You won’t believe who I just saw!
She was sounding so excited. I thought she must have seen Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan or SRK!
Me: Who?
Friend: Imtiaz Ali!
Me: you mean the guy who made Jab We Met?
Friend: Yes!
Me: You are excited about seeing Imtiaz Ali! Hahaha..Come on yaar..What’s the big deal about seeing him!
I mean it was so funny,I really didn’t think she would be sooo excited about seeing him.
Reminded me of the time when I was in college and I had spotted the entire Indian cricket team outside the Mumbai international airport.. I was a HUGE cricket fan and it was a nice opportunity to take autographs but I didn’t approach them because I thought it was inappropriate for a girl!
On the Mumbai-Pune express way. Earlier I used to be very anxious about traveling to places outside Mumbai without my family. Now, I’m used to it.
There is a lunar eclipse in Mumbai. It will last till nine pm.
A statue of the Hindu dancing God Nataraj. Took this picture at the NCPA yesterday. Me and my Muslim friend were debating what it was standing on. She was saying that it is standing on a baby but I disagreed because if you look closely that thing has a dagger in his hand. Even though we live in India we don’t really know much about Hindu mythology.
Beautiful kurdish baby girl. I wish I could wipe her face, comb her hair, give her some shoes and proper clothes. I wish for her to be in school and to have toys instead of getting water.
I see such kids all the time on Mumbai streets.
